Corniche Hospital is the largest maternity hospital in the Middle East, a Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited institution is a SEHA Health system facility managed by Johns Hopkins Medicine International (JHI). With specialty clinics in lactation, fetal medicine, diabetes and more, the hospital is equipped to provide services for 299 in-patients and 64 neonatal intensive care. Automated Medication Management Solution has successfully been implemented ensuring patient safety and cost control with comprehensive regulatory compliance.
Solution implemented includes Advanced Decentralized Medication Management Solution, Advanced Centralized Controlled Drug Management Solution, Advanced Refrigerated Drug Management Solution and Advanced Pharmacy Auto-Replenishment System. As a result the closed-loop medication safety initiative was completed in Corniche Hospital, in collaboration with Cerner.
The program enables data sharing and centralizes clinical information between the Pyxis MedStation® system and the Pyxis® Anesthesia system and the Cerner electronic health record (EHR). In addition, Corniche Hospital uses Pyxis CIISafe™ system for management of controlled substances and the Pyxis PARx® system for a closed-loop medication replenishment process.
